Park Valley 24th Celebration: Part II

Todd and Hannah rockin' the 3-legged race!

Todd with his prize money -- $0.50!!! Inflation is real, I'm pretty sure I only got a quarter when I was a kid.

Kate and Chloe showing off their winnings.

Jack cried his eyes out when he didn't win his race! Maybe he'll be our athlete. He's certainly got the competitive spirit and thirst for victory part down.

Kate's ready to run!

Our little miracle boy, my nephew Brigham, ran darn near every race with utter joy just 4 short weeks after having undergone open heart surgery. Miracles do happen. What a blessing.

Kate prepping Briggy at the starting line.

Jack and Lily racing against the old kids. I LOVE the determination on both their faces. Who cares if the other kids are twice their size!

Jack at the starting line.

What a tease!

Park Valley 24th Celebration: 2009

I LOVE my hometown of Park Valley, Utah!!! The 24th of July Celebration every year is such a fun family tradition. It was wonderful catching up with friends and family again. It's amazing how so many terrific people can live in one tiny little dot on the map!
My cousin Amy was the cutest "Dorothy" ever as she MCed the program!

Christie trying to learn how to rope on the spot. Nicely done, Chris!

Little Aubrey Rose singing "My Favorite Things"! What a memory. Way to go, cutie pie!

Jack and Daddy enjoying the show.

One of the favorite activities of the day is the water balloon launcher. Always a huge hit!

Ross Park: ACA Annual Party (Zoo Pics)

We are so lucky to be able to attend Dad Rose's annual work picnic every year on the 24th of July. This year we met at Upper Ross Park for a fun filled day at the zoo and water park, along with an amazing meal, games, and activities for the kids. Thanks so much to Dad for inviting us and to ACA for hosting such a wonderful party. We look forward to it each year. This year was especially fun since Brad was able to take the day off and go with us. Cindy and DJ were there with all the kids, so naturally, the Wilson kids were in HEAVEN with built in playmates for each of them. It was really fun to watch Regan and Todd and Kate and Morgan float the lazy river and then slide down the water slide together. What fun to have such wonderful cousins so close in age. Look out world, in a couple of years Jack and Kaleb will be tearing up the place!!!

The Giving Yard

The past three weeks have been so action-packed that I really did little more than turn the water on in the garden and hope for the best! Surprise, surprise ... the kids came in last Tuesday so excited because there were 'TONS' of beans in the garden. :) I went out to inspect and didn't get back in the house for a couple of hours. Not only were there tons of beans, but also beautiful bell peppers, zucchini, yellow squash and yummy raspberries! Gardening is not my thing, it's really just an exercise in obedience at this point in my life ... but I have to say it was a pretty fun surprise to find all that food ripe for the picking!

Jack was worn out from all the excitement after dinner. He did enjoy the fresh beans and squash before he fell asleep though!!! :)
