My little girl is growing up! How the years have flown with this angelic, spunky, creative, beautiful little whirlwind we call Kate. She has been such a joy to raise. She is a tender-hearted, snuggly little redbird, but she manages to hold her own with her two brothers in a most impressive fashion. I love that she ADORES animals of any and all kinds (be they stuffed or otherwise). I love that she loves to dance and sing and play dress up. I especially love that she and her best friend, Sadie, dream up crazy make believe games like "Scientist Princess"! I love? that she is so naive and tender that she gets absolutely scared to death during Scooby-Doo! She makes me laugh so hard when she gets up in the night to go to the bathroom -- she never remembers a thing -- but she is highly entertaining!! What a blessing to have been entrusted with one of the most angelic little spirits to have ever graced heaven's planes. We are truly blessed. We love you, Katie-bug! Happy Birthday ... and many more.

I DID make the cake! Thank you internet, fondant, and generous people who share their talents. It was my first foray in to molding fondant in to something 3D. It's surprisingly forgiving, thank goodness! She was THRILLED, which always makes all the work worth it.
(Oh, she also requested that it be an ice cream cake -- so it ended up being a 2-day process getting all the layers baked, cooled, frozen, layered, frozen, frosted once, frozen frosted twice, decorated ... -- KUH-RAZY, but really, really fun!)
Um...that pretty much rocks, Lor!! You are one amazing mom and she is one amazing little girl! We love you so much and we're so happy it was such an awesome day for her!
Porter just came in and looked at the cake and said, "wow, that is pretty cool!" Gotta love 2 year olds.
Such a WONDERFUL birthday party! We had a ball and love our little red-bird so much! She truly is the delight you describe!
And yes, you already know how we felt about that cake! We admire the fact that you are not afraid to tackle anything! We are sure little KatieBug will always remember her 9th birthday cake!
