Valentine-y Hair!

Kate is always asking me to blog about her hairstyles, but, frankly, it just takes too much time out of our morning to stop and take pictures of every step (not to mention I would have to actually blog about it!). However, we did a super-cute do this morning (which we copied from "The Story of a Princess and Her Hair") in honor of Valentine's Day. We thought we'd share a picture and the link in case any of you are interested! Happy V-day! We love you all.

A Few Joseph Pictures

Sorry for the blurriness of these pictures ... I pulled them off of a friend's Facebook page. If you'd like to see them a little more clearly, just log on to my Facebook profile and click on my photos. You'll see a bunch of them. I'll also be getting a bunch of photos from several friends who were kind enough to document the show for me. Then I'll have some better pictures of Brad and the kids as well. More to come ...

A Birthday Surprise

January 8 ... 6am ... cake and ice cream?!? You bet!

My birthday fell on a busy day this year. Mostly because we had play practice all evening and wouldn't be home at night to celebrate. So the kids and Brad woke me up with a fun surprise party before they had to go to school and work. We had a great time (but decided that, while very delicious, cake and ice cream don't make for the best breakfast ever!).

Have I ever mentioned how much I love my family????

Also, a big thank you with attached hugs and kisses to each of you for your birthday cards, gifts and wishes. I truly have the best family and friends in the world. Love you all.

Christmas Memories 2009

I recognize that Christmas is just a distant memory at this point, but I do have a few pictures that will help me remember the special, quiet (and not-so-quiet) moments we shared during this beautiful and holy holiday. It was a much needed respite and we made the most of it. Unfortunately I didn't catch much on my camera ... too busy just soaking up the moments I guess! :)

It Speaks For Itself

I commented to my Mom a while back that the absence of posts on my blog really is a commentary on what I've been doing these last three or four months. It tells the story ALMOST as well as if I'd actually documented all our activities. (At least that's what I'm telling myself!)

I know I've got to get back into journaling, so rather than try to remember everything we've done, I'm just going to write down what I can remember and share some pictures and then pick up from where I am now.

Let me just say what a GREAT time I had doing "Joseph", but also, how happy I am to have this adventure come to a close. It was very exhausting for all of us -- but especially for Brad and the kids. They were troopers. It was a wonderful opportunity to work together. We are having a bit of trouble getting back into a normal bedtime/wake up time schedule -- but I'm sure we'll all settle in sooner or later.

"Mother of the Year"

Okay, sheesh, I know I do a lot of things that qualify me for the **sarcastic quotes ** "Mother of the Year Award", but this one takes the cake -- I took 1 (one), yep, uno, picture of Halloween this year. It happens to be of Todd in his classroom during his Halloween party at school. I have no idea how I managed to not take any pictures of the other two kids. What in the world was I thinking? Sometimes I amaze myself! The kids promised they would put their costumes back on and let me snap a picture tonight. FHE will be on awesome parenting skills. :)

They truly looked adorable, though I have no proof. Todd was a Newsie (who else LOVES that movie???), Kate was Shirley Holmes (Sherlock's lesser known, but highly intelligent little sister), and Jack was the ever popular dragon. We had a wonderful night. I love it when Halloween is on Saturday.

I also love the night Daylight Savings ends. It's the best day of the year, don'tcha think? :)

A big congratulations to our awesome scouter, Todd! He recieved his Arrow of Light Award last Tuesday night at Pack Meeting. He turns 11 a week from today and is so excited about being an 11-year old scout. We have had a wonderful cub scouting experience. A big thank you to his wonderful leaders and the Cub Masters for our pack. We are blessed to have very dedicated, knowledgeable and conscientious den and pack leaders.

Upward and onward!!!
