A Surprise Visit!

We had a wonderful surprise today. My Grandma and Grandpa Rose came for a short visit. They were bringing a few head of cattle to the sale over here in Rupert, and were able to stop in for about an hour. We had such a wonderful visit! They are so dear, and such wonderful examples. Everything about their life revolves around their love for each other and their love for their family. Grandpa was even reciting the names of all the great-grandchildren on his way to Rupert today, just so he can call them all by name at Thanksgiving. I don't know how they manage to make each and every member of their posterity (including in-laws) feel cherished and special, but they do. They are truly amazing people and I'm so blessed to call them my grandparents.

On a side note: The minute Jack heard they were coming he made sure he put on his cowboy boots and cowboy hat. He wanted to give Grandpa a proper welcome! He was in awe of the truck and trailer, too!!!

A Visit from G&G Rose

We enjoyed a fun visit from Grandma and Grandpa Rose last week. Dad had business in Burley, so Mom came along for the ride and spent the day with us! Dad was in and out and we thoroughly enjoyed both of them. The kids (of course) spent the requisite time showing off for G&G and showing them all the fun things they got for Christmas. Todd and Grandpa even spent some time shooting the BB gun while Kate and Jack watched from inside the safety of the kitchen window!

Saturday Stuff

Inspired by a night spent cleaning the temple and a visit by Mom and Dad Rose, Saturday was needfully spent cleaning the house!! With the whole family pitching in, the job wasn't bad at all and the result was entirely worth it (at least for me!). I love the feel and smell of clean corners. I'm typically a neat person, but not always clean down to the floorboards -- so I'm feeling pretty great about the state of things at the moment. If only the clean stayed clean!!!

As mentioned, Mom and Dad drove over to spend the evening with us (no small task considering they spend Friday evening and Saturday with Julie and her kids, then dropped everything to run to our house after they left). They came to spend some time with us and hear the kids recite their parts for our Primary Sacrament Meeting Presentation (which is today). They weren't able to stay for church since Dad has speaking assignments in two wards today. They spent the night and got up early this morning to drive home.

The kids absolutely love it when Grandma and Grandpa come for a visit. They pull out every trick in the book to impress and entertain and are always gratified by the oohs and aahs doled out in their behalves. Thanks for being wonderful parents and grandparents, Mom and Dad. We truly appreciate the sacrifice it was to drive over for such a short time. We loved having you!
