Mother's Day

We took an impromptu drive yesterday afternoon. We visited many fun Southern Idaho sites including the Twin Falls, Shoshone Falls, Cauldron Linn, and the Milner Wind Farm. It was so much fun to explore our little neck of the woods and have a chance to truly appreciate the beauty of this beautiful earth. I especially enjoyed a Mother's Day nap as we drove!

I was completely spoiled by my sweet husband and kids -- a lovely breakfast, thoughtful gifts and cards, lots of time together, and a nap! What more could any mom ask for?

I feel the need to mention what a dear and angelic soul my own mother is. She is a person to try emulate in all ways. I've never met anyone as patient, kind, and quick to forgive as she is. I hope to someday have a few of the qualities she possesses in great abundance. She lives a life of quiet service and devotion. Her greatest joy is her family and how she spends her time and resources bears witness of that fact. I love you, Mom. You are one of my greatest blessings in this life.

Thanks, Mom!

A big, heart-felt (and a little chagrined) THANK YOU goes out to my awesome mom! She is a much better blogger and commenter than I will ever be. I'm including a couple of links to her blog about my kids and our family since she's done such a great job of covering events that I have neglected!

You really do always need your mom!

Happy Birthday Mom

Just a quick post about my amazing, beautiful, wonderful mother. It's her __ th birthday today! I just want you to know how much I admire and love you, Mom.

Thank you for teaching me how to be a mother by mothering me with care, love, and dignity. It's amazing how easy it is to follow the example that has been set. I'm thankful that my example was such a supremely good one.

Thank you for believing in me without pushing me. You are always so complimentary, so encouraging, and so genuine. It never occurred to me as a child that there was anything beyond my capacity. I credit you for giving me confidence in myself.

Thank you for loving the gospel and for teaching me to walk in faith. My life is the best it could be because I have you as my mother.
