Like a Breath of Fresh Air

We've been in our home for 8 years now, and I have to admit, I was really getting antsy with the look of a couple of the rooms in the house (okay, ALL the rooms in the house!). So I decided to do a little updating in the kitchen and family room. Nothing too drastic, just some paint and a few decorations... but boy oh boy, do I feel better!

I decided to really embrace the pink kitchen/candy shoppe thing and I've found that it suits me perfectly. I love that 1950s retro feeling I get when I walk in that room. It's relaxing, happy, and very appetizing! Just what the doctor ordered.

The one large expense we did undertake was new furniture for the family room! Yippee! We wanted to have a hide-a-bed for extra sleeping space when visitors come (hint, hint), but can I just say, it is really difficult to find a nice looking sleeper sofa. They just arent' in style right now, I guess. We were finally able to find a nice microfiber one at Wilson-Bates in Twin Falls. They delivered it yesterday, along with two matching recliners (not pictured, because I couldn't get to them -- the sheetrockers are busily working away and they have the recliners pushed up against the wall.)

Hope you'll all stop by for a snack in my 'new' kitchen and a sleepover in the family room. We'll treat you right... :)

A Few Promised Bridal Shower Photos

Here are a few photos of the bridal shower we hosted last week. We still don't have any of the whole yard (chinese lanterns, fountain, etc.), but these are fun nonetheless.
