I think we are the last family to start school this year, which seems weird, because I still feel like it's so early to be starting. I guess I just didn't get enough summer!!! Last week I was absolutely sure I wasn't ready for it, but I'm quickly warming to the idea. The kids were equally unenthusiastic, but were up bright and early this morning and ready to go to the bus stop about a 1/2 hour early! I think they're adjusting just fine. They got Jack ready to go and even equipped him with his own little backpack. Cute stuff.
Schedules are good, schedules are good, schedules are good, .... (do I sound like I'm trying to convince myself?)

Hip hip hooray, the bus is here!!!!
Jack was devastated when the bus left without him. :( Thankfully, after about 30 seconds of crying he dried his tears (with some effort), put on his best big boy smile and said, "We go car, Mama?" Yep, we go car, buddy!

Hurray for the first day of school! I remember thinking it was the best then by about the 4th day I was wondering what I got so excited about. Kate and Todd looked adorable and I'm sure they will have a great school year. Love you all.
Oh, what memories all this evokes...both of when you kids were little and when I was little! It was so exciting to get new school clothes and then pick out and lay out the chosen outfit for that first day back! They look so cute but the picture of Jack broke Dad's and my heart! He looks crushed and our thought was that if Todd and Kate would have seen him crying, they would have cried too! They do adore each other, don't they? It is so sweet and special to see the love our grandkids have for their siblings. Anyway, thanks for the post...it made me nostalgic!
These pictures are so cute. I miss the first day of school. For some reason Tyler just doesn't get quite as excited as your kids look! By the way, I love your blog. Where did you find your template?
